The Apprentice Band is starting on 5th April at 6.30am and will be based on a Wind Band format. It is for musicians in their early stages of learning or those that have had some time away from their instruments that would like to get back into playing. It will be aimed at grades 1-4 standard but grades aren’t essential to join. It will be a chance for musicians to build confidence to play with other players supported by members of the Wind Band.
The Big Band will be starting soon and will rehearse on Sunday afternoons. It will follow a traditional big band format of Saxes, Trumpets, Trombones and Rhythm Section. The band will focus developing a repertoire in the early stages so that it can focus on performing gigs – ideally once a month in the long run.
