Enderby Concert Band was formed in 2008 to provide an alternative band for all ages.
We welcome all brass instrumentalists who are not able to give a full-time commitment for competing in contests and rehearsing two or more times a week, but still want to play music as a
hobby and for social enjoyment.
We play a wide selection of enjoyable music to cater for all tastes, abilities and occasions.
During the year the band play in 3-4 concerts, play in a Leicester Park as part of 'Music in the Park', carry out carolling at Christmas and on occasions take part in an entertainment competition for unregistered bands.
We practice once a week on a Thursday evening between 19.15 and 21.15 with a 15-minute break for refreshment and a chat, we are currently rehearsing at the ROBJOHN Hall in Narborough whilst we continue are search for a permanent venue.

Musical Director
Stewart started playing when he was 4 years old in Hove Salvation Army junior band which was conducted by his father, and when he was 13 he joined the Patcham Band.
He learnt to play trombone for a Scout Gang show that his father was producing, which came in extremely useful when he moved to Leicester and joined the City of Leicester Club and Institute band.
In 1971 Stewart joined Enderby band with the advantage of being able to play both valve instruments and trombone being extremely useful.
Stewart joined the Ratby Band in 1975 where Betty Anderson was conducting and played Solo Trombone for them during their rise from the Fourth section to the Championship section.
It was while he was at Ratby that he was asked to Tutor on the Wessex Youth Band course where he met and worked with many of the top players and conductors from the brass band world. He continued to be part of the Wessex course furniture for a number of years later, which helped him bring those well know faces to a number of Enderby Band events and training weekends.
Christmas 1989 was when Stewart left Ratby Band and rejoined the Enderby Organisation after being asked by Garry Sleath to rejoin. Since this time, Stewart has been fully committed to the organisation and is now in his 25th Year with the organisation.
Stewart trained and conducted the Youth band for 15 years and had many notable contest successes and a lot of fun during that time, to which he relinquished that position in July 2004 due to work commitments.
In 2008 the Concert band was formed with Stewart being the musical Director. This band was created for adult players who started playing later in life or for those whom did not have the time and commitment for the senior band, but still wanted to play and be part of the brass banding world.
After all these years Stewart is still passionate about banding and the organisation, whether it be conducting, helping the children in the Junior Band expand their knowledge or playing in the Senior Band.
